Class Information

Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may not be admitted. Most of our courses utilize videotapes, lecture, group discussions, and practice sessions. Because of these interactive teaching methods students must attend all class sessions to receive certification. Students are required to actively participate. It is suggested students wear comfortable clothing that will allow them to bend, kneel, and lay down. For any full day courses offered at the Chapter House, it is suggested students bring a lunch.

Health Precautions

The American Red Cross follows the cleaning and de-contamination guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). When these guidelines are followed and basic personal hygiene is practiced, the risk of any disease transmission during class is extremely low. If you have one of the following conditions please call ahead and request a separate manikin.

  • A condition that would increase the other participants risk of exposure to infections: a cold or sore throat, cuts or sores on your hands or around your mouth, if you have tested positive for Hepatitis B or any chronic infection.
  • A condition that would increase your risk of exposure to infections: a compromised immune system as a result of HIV infection, chemotherapy, or other cause.

If you have a health or physical condition that would impede learning or performing the required skills please talk to the office staff prior to the class.

Re-certification Policies

Please be aware of your date of expiration. We cannot recertify you if your certification expired greater than 30 days. You will need to take the full class if the expiration date of your certification is over 30 days.
