Volunteer
The Henry County Chapter of the American Red Cross is always looking for dedicated volunteers. Here are some of the many ways in which you can be a Red Cross volunteer:
- Blood Mobile Worker
- Disaster Action Team Member (local disasters)
- DSHR (Disaster Services Human Resources) Team Member - the National Disaster Response Team

Requirements to become a local Disaster Services volunteer:
1. CPR/First Aid certified ( if you are not, we can train you)
We are having a Disaster Action Team Training: This is for NEW volunteers and those that want to refresh their skills.
April 17 Disaster Services: An Overview 6:00-9:30
April 24 Disaster Assessment Basics 6:00-9:00
April 25 Shelter Operations 6:00-9:00
May 1 Client Casework : P.E.A 6:00-9:00
May 3 Client Casework P.E.A cont. 6:00-9:00
These classes will be held in the Emergency Operations Center
1847 Oakwood Avenue, Napoleon (Old WalMart Plaza)
After the initial requirements are fulfilled, we will work you on a personal development program so you can take classes in other areas of Disaster Response in which you are interested. These classes are offered at no cost to disaster volunteers
Requirements to join the DSHR System (National Response Team):
To there are a few more requirements depending on on the function in which you have an interest (feeding, sheltering, damage assessment, computer case work, etc.) There are many courses to choose from depending on your skills, background, and interests.
